Altruist Debuts Industry-First Custodial Integration for its Transformative AI Platform, Hazel, Bringing Real-Time Account Data Into Every Advisor Conversation

Altruist, the tech-forward wealth platform for independent registered investment advisors (RIAs), announced that Hazel, its powerful AI platform, can now uniquely draw on real-time Altruist account, beneficiary, household, holdings, and balance data to answer questions, respond to clients with speed, and provide a highly personalized financial planning experience.

For example, Hazel can perform a household-level concentration analysis, surface asset-class or sector exposure, run beneficiary summaries, and much more in seconds, grounded in current custodial records.

This launch establishes category leadership on two fronts: Hazel is the first AI platform for wealth managers to unify real-time data from a major custodian with CRM, emails, and meeting notes — and Altruist becomes the first custodian to deliver an AI experience with this depth of live account context, enabling precise, reliable answers at speed.

“AI is at its best when it’s connected to the data you need every day,” said Jason Wenk, Founder & CEO of Altruist. “For RIAs, the custodian is that ultimate system of record, where critical details like beneficiaries, cost basis, and RMD data actually live. By wiring our Altruist data directly into Hazel, we’re setting the standard for what AI in wealth management should be — fast, accurate, and truly actionable. We’re out front today, and we’ll extend that lead with additional custodian integrations and, next, the ability to initiate actions directly on Altruist from within Hazel.”

Hazel runs on the same secure infrastructure as Altruist, which safeguards billions of dollars in client assets, and uses bank-grade encryption standards (TLS 1.2+) to protect data both in transit and at rest. Altruist also has zero data retention arrangements in place with key AI model providers.

Prior to year-end, Hazel plans to incorporate custodial data into more workflows, like meeting prep and email drafting. The platform will also expand firm-wide reporting to show which clients are behind on RMDs, have unrealized losses to harvest, and a number of other everyday use cases, plus add interactive graphs for richer analysis.

The integration is available today for Altruist firms, but Hazel is built for all advisors, no matter where they custody, to help make their practice more efficient. Hazel is offered as a standalone platform with a free trial at hazel.ai.
