Joel Bruckenstein and a select group of industry thought leaders will gather November 2-4, 2016 at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas hotel and resort to dialog about challenges and opportunities within the financial services industry. This annual gathering is specifically designed for heads of large financial advisory firms and broker/dealer executives interested in learning about the latest and greatest enterprise solutions for their firms. The fourth annual T3 Technology Conference for enterprises will offer a robust agenda and slate of impressive speakers. There is still time to register and attend but time is of the essence as this elite executive event may sell out soon.
Brian Hamburger, Founder, President, CEO of MarketCounsel, will talk about Regulatory Compliance and Risk Mitigation.
Separating the important and urgent from the noise is no small challenge in running a financial advisory practice. MarketCounsel offers its thought leadership on a myriad of issues currently affecting and likely to impact investment advisers. Join attorney, columnist and industry advocate, Brian Hamburger, MarketCounsel’s founder, president and CEO for a rapid-fire discussion of relevant issues that advisers should be tracking, acting upon, or even (gasp) ignoring. Brian will also touch on cybersecurity, automated solutions, and the DOL Fiduciary Rule.
Numerous general sessions and breakout sessions complete the agenda this year. Here are just a few that typify the depth and expertise that will abound:
Robo advisors have been garnering a lot of attention over the past couple of years, with the pundits lining up on both sides of the fence, some defending the concept, others panning it for the shortcomings often present in the current offerings. In his presentation, PlanPlus President and CEO Shawn Brayman (www.PlanPlus.com) will show how the industry best practices can be incorporated into a cyber advice platform to produce results that benefit all. Rigorous planning, comprehensive profiling covering the many facets of risk and context-sensitive guidance leads to “better fit” portfolio recommendations and allows clients to provide truly informed consent. The result: satisfied regulators and clients more likely to stay well-invested for the long haul – all produced by a profitable business model. PlanPlus and its partner Finametrica will also be launching just such a robo – miPlan – at this year’s T3 Enterprise conference.
Ryan Russell and Nick DiMatteo, co-founders of Twenty Over Ten (www.TwentyOverTen.com), will be “Redefining Design in Finance” at the T3 Enterprise Conference. They will highlight three actionable steps advisors can leverage to stand out in the crowd and highlight their unique value (all while staying compliant). “As the landscape of financial planning and investment advice continues to shift, the question ‘how do advisors stay relevant and show real value?’ has never been more pressing,” said Russell. Twenty Over Ten will also be unveiling their biggest innovation to date, putting advisors and compliance teams on the front edge of web design and digital marketing.
Matthew Schulte, SVP, Financial Planning, eMoney Advisor (http://www.eMoneyAdvisor.com), will talk about “Taking FinTech to FidTech” and how eMoney is bridging the fiduciary technology gap. He will discuss new ways firms can use technology to comply with the fiduciary standards issued by the DOL throughout all stages of the advisor-client relationship, from monitoring and archiving advice to presenting plans in a client’s best interest. “With the Department of Labor’s Fiduciary Rule going into effect in under six months, the industry is bracing for what lies ahead. Behind the scenes, eMoney has been working on a new initiative called the Fiduciary Framework that is incorporated into our product roadmap,” said Schulte. “We’ll be discussing how our Fiduciary Framework, infused into our new technology solutions, bridges the long-standing gap between planning tools and compliance software for fiduciary-focused firms of all sizes.”
Orchestrate, LLC’s COO and Co-CTO, Sayer Martin, CFA, (www.OrchestrateLLC.com), will deliver a session titled “Real-World Salesforce Integration” and illustrate how advisors can use integrations with Salesforce custom applications and external system APIs to create time-saving processes. “Integration is more than a buzzword,” said Martin. “The integrations available in Salesforce open up more possibilities to advisors than any software can offer on its own.”
Chrisopher Grozdon from Nest Egg Guru (www.NestEggGuru.com) will deliver a T3 Talk entitled, “Just Say No to Monte Carlo.” The presentation will introduce Nest Egg Guru as a unique a la ‘carte retirement stress testing application that offers an alternative to popular probability-based retirement software. The discussion will also emphasize Nest Egg Guru’s timeliness as client education a tool for helping independent broker/dealers comply with the DOL’s new standards for providing retirement planning guidance.
Stephen Swensen, CEO and Founder of Bucket Bliss (www.BucketBliss.com), will share his expertise during his presentation about The Bliss Index, the newest update to the Bucket Bliss Advisor software. The Bucket Bliss Index is a new tool embedded into Bucket Bliss software that allows both advisors and their clients to see how viable the retirement income plan they’ve created is; the higher the Bliss Index, the more likely the plan is to succeed. Guests can visit the Bucket Bliss booth for more information on bucket strategies and the newly released Bucket Bliss Robo-tool. Instead of dealing solely with income accumulation, as the majority of robo-tools do, the Bucket Bliss Robo-tool is the first robo-advisor that has the ability to handle retirement income distribution as well. “I’m excited to teach advisors and broker/dealers how using bucket strategies and our Bucket Bliss Robo-Tool can help them market their practices and acquire more clients,” said Swensen.
Rich Conly, Executive Vice President and Head of Sales for Sawtooth Solutions (www.SawtoothAM.com), will discuss Sawtooth’s Platform and the future of the advisor-client relationship. His T3 Flash Session, “Rogue or Vogue: The Future of Rep as PM,” will discuss the changing consumer of investment services, new regulatory obligations and how technology platforms like Sawtooth’s can enable reps to meet these new demands while also providing higher touch investment services.
David Coyle, Senior Vice President of Business Development, Vanare (www.Vanare.com), will in his T3 Flash Session provide a brief discussion on leveraging technology throughout the wealth management process. “Many firms are focused on robo and not on bringing true efficiency to all aspects of their practice,” Coyle said. “I’ll be sharing how we see things from our institutional vantage point at Vanare and how the wave of innovation in fintech can assist financial advisory firms and supervising broker/dealers in bringing compliance, value and growth to the overall structure.”
Ryan W. Neal, technology reporter for WealthManagement.com, will lead a panel discussion with some of the industry’s top financial services executives on how they vet and select software for their firms, advisors and registered representatives.
Ryan studied English and philosophy at UC Santa Barbara and found his way into journalism. After spending a few years in the Colorado Rockies as a freelance writer and full-time snowboarder, Ryan moved to New York to earn a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University. While he is a serious full-time tech writer now, he’s never a dull wit, always a ton of insight and fun.
Designed to bring together financial services firm decision-makers and the creators of the industry’s most innovative technology solutions, this annual industry gathering has become the place to learn about and do research on the best marketing, productivity and workflow solutions available.
