Dave Welling Departs SS&C Advent; Robert Roley to Oversee Entire Advent Business

Dave Welling has resigned from SS&C Advent to pursue a new opportunity. Robert Roley, General Manager of SS&C Advent will now oversee the entire Advent business.

Here is the full text of Roley’s post to the SS&C Advent blog regarding his new position and his vision for the future of the firm:

“As I take on a broader role at SS&C Advent and look more deeply at the solutions our Advisory clients use and enjoy, I recognize the gem we have in the Black Diamond wealth platform. We will continue to direct investment, time and people towards this growing platform. Today, Black Diamond serves more than 1,000 firms who advise on more than $600 billion in assets. I know that how well our team operates has a direct correlation to the service our clients provide to their clients. This is a privilege that every team member takes seriously every single day they walk into the office.

And our responsibility continues to grow. Like other advisory technology solutions in the market, Black Diamond has undergone rapid change – from an up and coming, cloud-based reporting package to now a world-class wealth platform, the Black Diamond solution helps advisors look at a client’s complete wealth picture. The new version of Black Diamond, known as BD3, is powerful, with new reports functionality, enhanced and dynamic portals for advisors and clients, and robust business intelligence features. Our clients can also expand the power and depth of Black Diamond with best-of-breed platform partners, including Salentica, a CRM provider we recently acquired, and industry-leading tools in financial planning, risk analysis and UMA. I’ve heard from many clients who are excited about this unified experience and how it helps set them apart in today’s digital age.

BD3 will only continue to get better, with ideas from clients at the center. The Black Diamond team recently hosted its first Hackathon, bringing clients together with developers to brainstorm and flesh out ideas for the platform. The winning idea, focused around client acquisition tools, has been prioritized on the Black Diamond development roadmap. Investment in Black Diamond product development is the highest it has ever been. We’re able to make this investment because clients (existing and new ones) continue to show their interest at a steady rate – on average, 1.4 clients have signed on every business day this year!

What do I envision for the next chapter of our Advisory focus at Advent? Well, more of the same really. Innovative enhancements based on client feedback. Personal and dedicated service to delight clients and support them from implementation and beyond. In addition, we’ll continue to invest in our people – the team that’s already here and working hard on our clients’ behalf and new team members to support the growth and work hand-in-hand with our clients.

I’m excited about the next chapter and thank our clients for ongoing trust and commitment.”
